What a delightful invitation!
I am now an honorary member of The Kooky Kids’ Club and as such, it is suggested, or requested, that I divulge any kooky quirks I might have. As a book blogger, however, you know that I wouldn’t have any of those–quirks? Nah. But there are just a couple idiosyncrasies (among the others) that I might disclose.
First, years ago I began a collection of frogs. Yes, frogs. There is a long story behind that, one that included “live” frogs. Needless to say, I won’t go into detail, but it soon got around (you know how those things happen!) and soon I was getting frogs for my birthdays, Christmases, and for any little celebration between. Big ones (giant sized, concrete garden frogs), little ones, collectibles, and even one from both our French exchange students and our Croatian exchange student who soon became our Croatian “son.” Here are just a few that are left.
Then if you’ve followed my blog for any period of time know that I took up riding a motorcycle at 55 years of age. Not the brightest thing I’ve ever done, but certainly one of the most fun. It so happened at the time that I had an ever-growing Victorian Christmas Village. You’ve seen those? Beautiful little snowy miniatures of old-time snowy Christmas village scenes. My daughter found a Harley-Davidson building. Didn’t exactly fit the Victorian time frame but of all the churches, libraries, homes, and theatres, quickly became my favorite piece and the one building I still have after winters in an RV and several moves. (And no, I didn’t ride a Harley. I rode a BMW. You know what they say about BMW motorcycles? “I didn’t know they also made cars until I passed one!”)
But are those actually quirks? Maybe, but we all have collections. What are some of your most treasured collections? Is there a quirky story tied to that collection? I know they probably have a heart connection, right?
The Kooky Kids’ Club. A children’s book. Really? Isn’t there a lesson in there for all of us?
Coming Friday, my review of The Kooky Kids’ Club and as you may have guessed, this has been a fun one!

You are definitely a member of the Kooky Kids Club. Collections, loving frogs and riding a motorcycle, you inspire me Virginia. BTW do you go by Ginny, Gin or Virginia?

My mother called my Ginny. My friends and blogging buddies call me Gin (as did my motorcycle buddies). I count you among my buddies, Carla, feel free.

let’s see, by my reckoning, you are pulling another all-nighter? shalini, shalini, shalini, still i love your comments and always look to see if you’ve approved my stuff. yes, loved that bike. it took me everywhere! live frogs…well, did you know you can’t “transplant” frogs? (you can’t catch them and release somewhere else–they don’t like that. we had moved you see, and i missed them.) then i tried polliwags. that sorta worked, but got the whole frog thing started. oh gee, sure hope my review can live up to the hype.😲 i really did enjoy robbie’s book! 😍 (btw, i have a twitter and instagram releasing later today.)

Nopes I don’t pull an all nighter anymore… I sleep on time
Don’t know anything about frogs except I dissected a live unconscious one and didn’t like it.. Then I dissected earthworm… Ah well…
I am sure, you are going to have fun in the post. You are hot and happening on the social media… 🔥🔥♨️♨️

I like having frogs on the property, call me superstitious, and their sounds at night. I’m a little dismayed at my insta, didn’t work quite right.

Ha ha!!!! Well, I’m not far off in any respect! I was a Pokemon Go player as well, and at the age of 34 (and without even a driver’s licence) I’ve been talking to my man about getting my M class licence to get a motorcycle! Maybe I can join your growing gang in the future! 😉🏍️

thank you! there is so much i still do not understand about Pokemon Go but you know i’d rather die than ask a 10 year old. riding a motorcycle is too much fun. after i told hubby i wanted to ride we went to a dealer and he headed to the scooters and i to the bikes. no, i didn’t want to ride a scooter. after i started riding tho, didn’t want to ride alone and pushed him out to get a license. watching your husband ride is scary! after my first road trip tho i was HOOKED! (thought i was going to die, but loved riding anyway.) nothing like the wind in your face–i understand why dogs do that. (btw, i’m still licensed.)
