Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Things People Play With

Cee's Fun Foto Challenge2

I have lots of playtime photos, motorcycling (my BIKE how I miss it!), and coming up winter projects–knitting. Painting! Both hubby and I used to paint–he inherited from his mother, me from my grandfather (author/artist Stanley McShane) and this is one of his from 1936. And then there is off-roading, rails in the Yuma desert, warm sandy hills.

Lots of fun, colorful things to play with. Toys never get old. Oh, and blogging, of course!

I have some vibrant color photos, the tree, part of their early Halloween decorations, taken as recently as last month at the Albanese Candy Outlet Store in Merrillville IN. Obviously, hubby and I were having some fun in the hall of mirrors at the Science Museum in Chicago.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Music, Guitar, Men, Candid, Plate

Cee's Fun Foto Challenge2

Cee at Cee’s Photography hosts a weekly Fun Foto Challenge. This week’s challenge is pretty diverse: music, guitar, cafe, jewelry, plates, sofa, men, candid.

It’s been a whirlwind two weeks with our special houseguests from Texas–old and dear Navy buddies. (Our hubbies served together in Taiwan many years ago.) I slacked off on social media, but starting with this post hope to get caught up. (Give me a few days, please.) In the meantime, I did have fun with this week’s challenge. After singing in formal choir and gospel choirs, I landed in the Gospel Jubilee in Idaho. We had SO much fun and the musicians were incredibly talented. Go ahead, guess where I am in this picture!

Black and White: Totally blew the engine on this poor little Chevy Tracker that got us all over the hills of Yuma to Goodyear and on to Indiana. It was that last leg that done it in!

Clouds: The sky and cloud formations in Arizona are amazing. This one over the golf course in Goodyear. (No, I didn’t draw that line–but was amazed when I saw it.)

Reflection and Mirror: Reflection in the mirror taking shots to sell the RV. Loved those winters in Arizona and it was comfortable–except for the engine–we’d still be there.Reflection - Mirror

We are currently enjoying the visit of our old Navy buddies from Taiwan. Short posts for awhile. (Oh, the memories!)

I’ve chosen several widely differing piles or stack concepts, the first being the construction site in Merrillville of a developing three-story nursing facility.

Rosepoint #Reviews – June Recap

Hello Summer!Holy Moses! Half of the year gone–poof! Waiting all this time for decent weather to grow my vegetable garden and see what survived or didn’t in the fairy garden, and now we’re into summer and spring blooms are dying. What is up with that? I’m not a fan of July heat, but with it may come more visitors and we had such fun showing our grandkids around the area, we may just do that again! (With proper heat protection this time of course.) If I suddenly go quiet, just picture the CE and I on our quaint senior deck enjoying the company of our old Navy buddies. We spent the last portion of dear hubby’s tour in Taiwan where I contracted amebic dysentery and the other wife worse. They now live in Texas where none of us have to wonder what we’re eating or whether the water was properly purified. Ahh, the good ole days!

Less you think I’m making excuses (again), I took part in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenges and #ThrowbackThursdays, as well as spotlights and book tours during the month resulting in a net of seven book reviews for June.

So the question is, do you start a favorites list from the beginning of the year, then of necessity keep rearranging, or tackle the task at the end of the year? No, I didn’t start an Excel spreadsheet, maybe I should have. Maybe Goodreads is a good place to start? How do you go about the mission? Any suggestions?

Indie Author DayI keep scanning my resources for any information on Indie Author Day set for Saturday, October 13, 2018. Registration is now open. So far, the closest library that appears to be participating is in Lafayette, some 90 miles away. Even my previous little town of Goodyear AZ is participating and this area is far larger. We have several gorgeous, new libraries within ten miles, so I find it difficult to believe no one is organizing a local (NWI) event. There are currently more than seventeen states involved as well as three locations in Canada.

A worldwide event, libraries and organizations will welcome local Indie authors and writers for a day of education, networking, panels and more. And according to their website–free registration to all participants! Anyone participating in this event? Have you been to one before? I’d love to hear about it!

A big thank to all my new followers and as always so appreciate you who continue to read and comment! Thank you!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Horizontal Line(s)

Cee’s Photography runs a weekly Fun Foto Challenge. This week’s challenge is Horizontal Line(s) This challenge is basically self-explanatory. Pictures are taken with my little (very old) Galaxy cell phone. Click on her website and check it out. It’s a very simple procedure. Have fun and let’s see how creative you can be on this challenge!

I’ve chosen several widely differing horizontal line concepts, the first being the architectural lines at the Ft. Wayne Library in Indiana where we went to research through their Genealogy Department.

The horizontal lines on our back deck also includes the lines of the roof and rail.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Columns and Vertical Line(s)

CFFCCee’s Photography runs a Fun Foto Challenge. This week’s challenge is  Columns and Vertical Line(s) This challenge is basically self-explanatory. (The following photo was taken with a [cheapie] camera–not my cell phone). Go click on Cee’s website and check it out. It’s a very simple procedure. Have fun and let’s see how creative you can we can be on this challenge!

Back when I was still riding my motorcycle, the internet group of girls with which I’d become acquainted after I got my license formed a group we called the West Coast Gathering (WCG). Every year, we’d pick a destination, usually somewhere in the geographical center of those attending. We rode to Walla Walla, Washington in 2014.

While we were exploring, I turned to see this magnificent façade of the hand-carved sandstone 1902 Henry Osterman building, where in 2010 the gorgeous “Windows on the Past” display was installed.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Sunset to Sunrise

CFFCOver at Cee’s Photography, she runs a Fun Foto Challenge. This week’s challenge is Sunset to Sunrise (including any nighttime photography).  This challenge is basically self-explanatory. As my little old cell phone camera is definitely not nighttime photography quality, I’ll stick with sunset or sunrise and I do have a few of those, the most spectacular being in Arizona. Go find your favorite sunrise or sunset picture, or grab your camera and submit. Go click on Cee’s website and check it out. It’s a very simple procedure. Have fun.  Let’s see how creative you can we can be with this challenge!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Trees and Leaves

Cee's Fun Foto Challenge

Over at Cee’s Photography, she runs a Fun Foto Challenge. This week’s challenge is Leaves or Trees This challenge is basically self-explanatory.  Any tree or leaf, alive or man made.   I saw the contribution by Cathy at Between the Lines and thought I knew JUST the tree to upload for the challenge–the focal point of my newly forming Fairy Garden, which has yet to be named. (So for now, it’s just Fairy Garden.) (Of course, in the winter, I also call it “the Swamp.”) If you have a photo of a tree you’d like to submit, click on her website and check it out. It’s a very simple procedure. Have fun.  Let’s see how creative you can we can be on this challenge!  ©2018 V Williams
