Aim True, My Brothers – Cover conveys subject
“Aim True, My Brothers” gets a little too close for comfort! The first in an electric and topical Political Action series by William F. Brown, he knows how to get your attention and keep it riveted to the page. This political slash espionage slash terrorist thriller moves the plot through at a frenetic pace.
Mr. Brown manages to impart enough information on the military weapons involved without overloading or dragging the story down with minute details. It’s enough that you can “get the picture.”
In this first of the FBI counter-terror series, our protagonist is reluctant hero Eddie Barnett, FBI rogue. He’s maybe had a teensy little problem with a previous assignment and his partner is ready to retire. He employs his experience in the military, wits, and police training, as he manages to drill home his theory in spades–but just TRY to get the directors of the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, and any other naysayers who are reluctant to listen to act on his theories. Seems they cannot be budged.
But you cannot, must not, discount the intelligence nor cunning and sheer determination of the Hamas terrorist who is acting independently; seeking revenge as well as credibility and vindication. He’s also seen the worst that war has thrown at him, and not always successfully. The antagonist is fleshed well enough to glimpse the blaze of hatred in his eyes and he has a target–a very big one–and this time will NOT fail.
The characters are real, dialogue realistic, scene descriptions sharp enough to smell the dogwood. The climax comes barreling at you with a heart-pounding fire-ball. Who has it consumed?
I’ve read several books by this author–they don’t disappoint. This book was offered in exchange for a fair review. I definitely got the best of that bargain! Recommended for anyone looking for a fast, exciting read with real down-to-earth human characters.
