#CoverLove – Color Themes

#CoverLove – we do love our colorful, eye-catching book covers!

It’s the first, all-important impression of any book. It’s an instant yea or nay. Pick up and investigate further or lay down and look for something else. Unfortunately, we are a “judge the book by the cover” sort of animal. As with any artistic endeavor–we know what we like or don’t like.

We love beautiful covers, those that catch the eye, and as always, “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.” Pick your favorite!#Cover Love - orange

First, I introduced the orange theme–this time of year, pumpkins, harvest, Halloween, Thanksgiving–orange works well. And it seemed many of my recent reviews all sported orange covers. How handy was that?! All good, recommended reads (L to R):

  1. An Echo of Murder by Anne Perry
  2. Fender by Brent Jones
  3. Her Last Day by T. R. Ragan
  4. A Far Road to Key West by Michael Reisig

Despite what you might think, no, they aren’t all suspense-thrillers (though I do have that propensity)! Fender is a beautiful literary fiction piece about loss and A Far Road to Key West is action-adventure at it’s best, most riveting. Two are authors I’ve tried for the first time and two are on my favorites list. Just look at those covers! Gorgeous!

#Cover Love - Blue theme

Now we’re onto the blue theme–which usually involves water–but not always. These are all authors new to me, though certainly not to their cadre of regular fans, including Robert Dugoni and his book, Close to Home, or Margaret Mizushima with her book, Hunting Hour. I’m a sucker for novels that include dogs (or cats–but mainly dogs) and I adored the service dog, Robo, as a strong character in Mizushima’s book. My blue books are:

  1. Close to Home by Robert Dugoni
  2. Missing Persons by Michael Brandman
  3. Hunting Hour by Margaret Mizushima
  4. Law and Vengeance by Mike Papantonio

Yes, all suspense thrillers and all recommended; none are debut authors. If these covers have piqued your interest (and I hope they have!), check out my reviews of them by clicking the link. The reviews all contain links to their sales.

Do you have some particularly gorgeous covers and books you’d like to recommend? I’d love to see what you fancy. Background photo attribute for #CoverLove-blue theme from Canva. ©2017 Virginia Williams I Love Likes and Comments--Please Share!

Happiness for a moment with you....

I'm glad I learned to express my thoughts clearly and everyone loves to read them. Sometimes it takes a lot of thinking power to think about the surroundings. Someone who likes it, someone who enjoys it, appreciates that he is writing very well. Reading and commenting on the post I wrote would give me a lot of bullshit and I would get new ideas to write new ones. I'm really glad I got your response.
